West Coast coach John Worsfold says the club's bye has come at a perfect time, leaving the Eagles in solid shape for upcoming AFL clashes with Melbourne and Essendon.
Unlike most other clubs whose bye creates a two-week gap between matches, the Eagles only have 12 days off before taking on the Demons at Subiaco Oval on Thursday week.
That early fixture means the Eagles will then have a 10-day break before their next match against the Bombers at Docklands on May 8, leaving Worsfold's troops refreshed but still sharp for both encounters.
"The fact that we play on a Thursday means we don't have a 14-day break and then only a seven-day break for our next game," Worsfold said.
"We actually have an 11-day break and then following Melbourne it's another ... 10-day break before we play Essendon.
"So we think that's a pretty good scenario for us, rather than having the full 14 days off from Saturday to Saturday."
Worsfold says forward Mark LeCras, who suffered a serious groin injury in the Eagles' season-opening win over North Melbourne, is an outside chance to take on the Demons.
A return against the Bombers is more likely, but either way Worsfold is pleased with the All-Australian's faster-than-expected recovery.
Chris Masten is also expected to return in the coming weeks, but defenders Beau Waters (dislocated elbow) and Mitch Brown (fractured thumb) are set to be sidelined for a further two months.
The Eagles enter their bye week at 2-2, but it could have been even better had it not been for tight losses to Sydney and Hawthorn.
