A Saturday afternoon at the Football is normally a pleasant experience.
Football Park comes alive to the shouts of fans as the Dockers prepare to grace us with their presence.
8am presents an excellent time to arrive at the ground and get in line for the wait.
It's the chance to talk to fellow supporters and get in the mood for the expected victory.
Even though the injury list is a worry the belief is that the depth will cover any such problems.
Showers are not a concern and the only thing they dampen are the sausage on the BBQ.
There is a concern about the size of the crowd and the starting time of 2:40pm is thrown up as a reason.
When the gates open there is the normal struggle to get a spot but it is all worthwhile.
Our boys are our heroes!
The feeling of optimism disappears very quickly and we are put to the sword by a very determined unit.
The margin at quarter time is 5 goals and we never recover.
The more the game continues the sicker fans feel in their stomachs.
Some even leave early! What a dismal day and more injuries just to make one feel even more depressed.
The bye was the real reason for our form.
How can you take it one week at a time if you have the bye in Round 2?
The AFL has a lot to answer for.
Bring on Port in the Showdown.
We know we can beat them.
Every body does!
