However a severe knee injury in the lead up to the 2010 season ruled him out for the year, and it has been atough road back for the defender.
This season it has been a roller coaster ride, playing the first 5 games of the year before injury concerns and poor form ruled him out for the next 6 weeks.
He made his return in Round 12 and has started to show the form that made him one of the most valuable youngsters at the club.
