Shuey accepts one-match ban

West Coast's Luke Shuey has accepted a one-match ban for striking Fremantle's Paul Duffield.

Shuey was charged over the incident in the fourth quarter of the western derby at Subiaco Oval on Sunday.

He will miss the round 10 encounter with Brisbane.

Essendon Bombers midfielder David Zaharakis has avoided a one-week suspension by pleading guilty to striking Greater Western Sydney's Tomas Bugg on Saturday.

He carries forward 93.75 penalty points.

His Essendon team-mates Jake Carlisle and Alwyn Davey accepted fines for wrestling incidents in the Bombers' win.

North Melbourne's Luke Delaney accepted a $1,800 fine for instigating a first-quarter melee in the match against the Lions at Docklands on Sunday.

His Kangaroos team-mates Levi Greenwood, Scott Thompson, Michael Firrito, Jamie MacMillan and Nathan Grima and Lions players Jonathan Brown, Daniel Merrett, Aaron Cornelius, Rohan Bewick and Billy Longer all received $1,200 fines for their participation in the incident.

Goodes appealing one-match ban

Adam Goodes will meet with the AFL tribunal at on Tuesday night to appeal his one-match ban for sliding into opponent Jacob Surjan during Saturday's match against Port Adelaide.

The suspension would be a double blow to the Sydney co-captain, ruining an SCG celebration of his Swans record 304th game against North Melbourne on Sunday and ruling him out of contention of winning a third Brownlow medal.

The incident was regarded as a level-one offence involving negligent conduct, low impact and body contact which would normally be reduced to a reprimand but Goodes' earlier offence in the preseason has stood against him.

Goodes slid feet-first into Geelong's Taylor Hunt in February, resulting in him receiving a one-match ban during the preseason.

The Swans are likely to argue that this incident was less serious as he was not diving in with studs showing and both he and Surjan were approaching the ball in a similar manner.

Elsewhere in tribunal news, Bulldogs defender Brian Lake and Melbourne's Jack Gimes have both accepted one match bans, while Carlton's Marc Murphy and the Demons' Nathan Jones said they will not appeal $900 fines.

Buddy facing one-match ban

Hawthorn star Lance Franklin has been offered a one-match ban among 12 charges laid by the match review panel.

Franklin can accept the suspension for his elbow to the head of Gold Coast midfielder Maverick Weller, which occurred during the Hawks' 71-point thrashing of the Suns at York Park.

His previous poor record means he cannot have the penalty reduced with an early guilty plea.

St Kilda's Justin Koschitzke faces a two-match suspension for his sling tackle on Geelong's Mitch Duncan and Sydney ruckman Shane Mumford has also fallen foul of the panel for a similar tackle.

Mumford can accept two weeks for rough conduct against Carlton's David Ellard in the Blues' 34-point triumph at Docklands.

Cats duo Mathew Stokes and Josh Hunt have also been hit with one-match bans for striking.

Stokes has been charged over an incident involving Koschitzke and defender Hunt for striking the Saints' Adam Schneider.

Others to be offered one-match suspensions were Essendon's Kyle Hardingham (rough conduct) and Richmond's Jake King (striking).

Cats midfielder Joel Corey can escape with a reprimand for a sling tackle, as can Sydney forward Ryan O'Keefe for front-on contact if they make early guilty pleas.

The Bombers' Brent Stanton can accept a reprimand for tripping North Melbourne's Nathan Grima because of his previous good record.

Melbourne's Tom Scully and the Swans' Nick Malceski have been given $900 fines for umpire contact.

Hunt accepts one-match ban

Former rugby league star Karmichael Hunt will miss Gold Coast's clash with West Coast in Perth on Saturday after accepting a one-match sanction offered by the AFL match review panel.

Hunt was booked for an illegal front-on bump against Geelong ruckman Nathan Vardy last weekend.

He risked a two-match ban had he unsuccessfully challenged the charge at the tribunal.

North Melbourne defender Michael Firrito has also accepted a one-match ban after pleading guilty to engaging in rough conduct against Sydney's Ryan O'Keefe.

The tribunal will not be required to sit tonight after all of the players charged during round 10 submitted early guilty pleas.

St Kilda's Brett Peak accepted a reprimand and 70.31 points for striking Fremantle's Dylan Roberton.

Collingwood duo Luke Ball and Cameron Wood were reprimanded on tripping and rough conduct charges respectively during Sunday's win over Adelaide.

Adelaide's Rory Sloane and Melbourne's Colin Sylvia were each fined $900 for making negligent contact with an umpire.
