Blues lose Curnow to injury

Carlton has lost a third player to injury for Sunday's key clash against West Coast at Docklands.

Ed Curnow has a quadriceps muscle injury and he will join Nick Duigan (calf) and Shaun Hampson (knee) as forced omissions.

The Blues have recalled Robbie Warnock and Dennis Armfield and promoted rookie-listed defender Rhys O'Keeffe for his senior debut.

The Eagles made one change, dropping Patrick McGinnity for Eric Mackenzie.

The Blues are third and will further consolidate their top-four berth if they can beat the fifth-placed Eagles.

Geelong made four forced changes for Sunday's home game against Adelaide, but named Jimmy Bartel.

He remains in some doubt because of a concussion during last Saturday night's win over St Kilda.

The Cats have already lost Josh Hunt and Mathew Stokes to suspension, while Nathan Vardy has soreness and Darren Milburn has a calf injury.

They promoted Mitch Brown for his AFL debut and also brought in Tom Hawkins, Tom Gillies and Allen Christensen.

Adelaide's 28-year-old rookie Ian Callinan will also make his AFL debut as Brent Reilly and Richard Tambling were recalled.

Brad Symes has a knee injury and Chris Schmidt and Jack Gunston were dropped.

Port Adelaide left out Daniel Motlop and Michael Pettigrew for Sunday's home game against North Melbourne, with David Rodan and Andrew Moore returning to the team.

Scott McMahon is out of the Kangaroos team because his wife is expecting and Cameron Richardson will replace him.

Blues bring back Curnow for Power

Carlton has recalled onballer Ed Curnow and handed Irishman Zac Tuohy his debut for Sunday's match against Port Adelaide.

Curnow had impressed Blues coach Brett Ratten in his debut season, playing every match before injuring his shoulder in round seven against St Kilda.

However, the Modewarre product had proved his fitness for the clash at Football Park.

Curnow had been named as rover while Tuohy, also 21, would start in the back pocket.

The fourth-placed Blues dropped ex-Melbourne midfielder Brock McLean and Jeremy Laidler is out with a knee injury.

Carlton decided to give Ryan Houlihan - who was named in a seven-man interchange bench on Thursday - a fourth game in the VFL following a calf injury.

Port, 16th, included Jacob Surjan at the expense of Cameron Hitchcock.

Third-placed Hawthorn made two changes for Sunday's game against eighth-placed Fremantle at the MCG.

Clinton Young and Kyle Cheney replaced injured duo Chance Bateman (ankle) and Shane Savage (calf).

The Dockers included Clancee Pearce and Zac Clarke for Jay van Berlo and Dylan Roberton who had been omitted.

Adelaide made four changes for Sunday's game at Docklands against North Melbourne.

The Crows recalled Brad Symes, Bernie Vince, Jack Gunston and ruckman Brad Moran for Myke Cook, Shaun McKernan and injured pair Taylor Walker (knee) and Brodie Smith (hip).

North named Kieran Harper and Cameron Pedersen to replace defenders Michael Firrito (suspended) and Daniel Pratt (finger injury).
